Geneva Chamber announces coffee crawl and Viking ship museum opening

The City of Geneva is gearing up for an exciting couple of weeks, with two major community events set to engage residents and visitors alike. The Geneva Chamber of Commerce announced the return of the popular Coffee Crawl on Saturday, April 19, featuring 30 local retailers offering unique coffee creations. This year’s event promises to enhance the experience by allowing participants to savor their stops rather than rush through them, a change that has already shown positive results in previous iterations.

Following the Coffee Crawl, the city will host a citywide garage sale, inviting residents to declutter their homes and connect with neighbors. Participants can access digital maps to navigate the sale locations, making it easier to discover hidden treasures.

In a significant cultural development, the Friends of the Viking Ship revealed they have secured property in downtown Geneva to construct a museum dedicated to preserving the historic Viking longship, which has been in the city since 1996. This new museum will be located at 101 Hamilton, enhancing the north side of the business district. The ship will be open for public viewing on the same day as the Coffee Crawl, with guided tours available throughout the day.
