Anacortes updates internet service map with new availability timeline

The City of Anacortes is making significant strides in expanding internet service, as highlighted during the recent City Council meeting. The latest service map, updated in September 2024, shows areas currently served in green and those under expansion in gray.

City officials announced that residents can now check their specific service availability through the city’s website, Access Anacortes Scribe Internet. This tool allows users to input their address and see when they can expect service. For example, areas marked in orange will gain service starting in May, while blue areas will be ready by June. Some regions, shown in green, are projected to have service available by next spring.

The council emphasized the importance of this expansion, which includes working with private landowners to secure necessary easements for service installation. As the city continues to enhance its internet infrastructure, residents are encouraged to utilize the online resources for the most current information on service availability.
