Leader Johnson honors Grassland Middle School cheer team for national championship victory

During the recent Senate session on April 10, 2025, the Tennessee State Legislature took a moment to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Grassland Middle School Game Day Cheer Team. Leader Johnson introduced the team, highlighting their dedication and hard work that led them to win the national championship in Orlando, Florida, earlier this year.

The cheer team, consisting of 38 talented young athletes, has demonstrated resilience and teamwork throughout their journey. They faced various challenges, including illnesses and unpredictable weather, but their commitment paid off as they secured multiple championships, including the prestigious title at the national event, which featured over 27,000 athletes from across the country.
