Ferguson Florissant School District enhances educational programs and prioritizes student well-being

The Ferguson-Florissant School District, serving over 10,000 students in suburban St. Louis, showcased its commitment to educational excellence during the Board of Education meeting on April 9, 2025. The district, fully accredited by the state of Missouri, operates a diverse range of educational institutions, including seven pre-kindergarten through second-grade schools, six intermediate schools, and three middle schools, one of which is a highly regarded STEAM school ranked second in the state.

Significant achievements highlighted during the meeting included the recognition of STEAM Academy and McClure South Berkeley High School as among the best high schools in America, placing them in the top 12% in Missouri and the top 35% nationally. The district has emphasized college and career readiness, achieving a remarkable 93% four-year graduation rate and increasing enrollment in advanced placement courses.

Since adopting an equity resolution in 2018, the board has worked to identify and address inequities within its policies and practices. This effort culminated in the adoption of anti-racist standards aimed at fostering a more inclusive educational environment.

The Challenger Learning Center and Little Creek Nature Area offer experiential learning opportunities, further enhancing the educational experience.
