Bayoule proposes new gathering limits amid community support for social enterprise

The Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) held a regular meeting on April 9, 2025, where key discussions centered around the future of a local social enterprise, Bayoule. The meeting aimed to address community concerns and establish a clear plan for the use of the facility, particularly in light of an upcoming event scheduled for the weekend of April 24.

Specifically, they requested permission for 20 days of gatherings with up to 120 guests and 10 days for events with up to 150 guests. They assured the commissioners that any gatherings exceeding the standard capacity would include provisions for additional portable restrooms and shuttle services to accommodate guests.

The representatives stressed the importance of establishing a consistent understanding of capacity limits to facilitate future planning and bookings, as they are already scheduling events two years in advance. They reiterated their commitment to maintaining community standards and ensuring that any larger gatherings would be managed responsibly.
