Denton County proclaims April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month for CASA volunteers

The Corinth City Council meeting on April 3, 2025, highlighted the importance of child welfare by proclaiming April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Denton County. The proclamation was presented by a representative from CASA of Denton County, an organization dedicated to advocating for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.

During the meeting, it was noted that over 204 volunteers from Denton County contribute approximately 20,679 service hours annually to support the organization. CASA serves more than 570 children in the area, with four children specifically from Corinth receiving assistance last year. The representative, Jen Adame, emphasized the urgent need for more volunteers to ensure that every child in need has a CASA advocate by their side.

The council's recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month aims to raise awareness and encourage community involvement in protecting vulnerable children.
