FABSAF Fund unveils summer events including July 5 fireworks and Easter egg hunt

The Fountains of Fun Festival is gearing up for an exciting season, with key events planned for the community, including an annual Easter egg hunt and a parade on April 28. During a recent Port of Bremerton Commissioners meeting, festival organizers introduced the new royalty court, emphasizing their commitment to community engagement and volunteerism.

The festival's fireworks display, traditionally held on July 4, will instead take place on July 5 this year due to vendor availability. Organizers are optimistic about securing the necessary approvals and funding, with costs for the fireworks estimated between $30,000 and $40,000. They highlighted the importance of community support, urging residents to volunteer and contribute to the festival's success.

Queen Mia and Princess Amelia, both seniors at South Kitsap High School, expressed their excitement for the upcoming events and their roles in promoting community involvement. They also announced the sale of buttons to support their scholarship program, priced at $2 each.

The festival's organizers reiterated that the events are community-driven, relying on local volunteers and fundraising efforts, rather than city funding. They encouraged residents to participate actively, whether through volunteering or attending events, to foster a vibrant community spirit.
