The City of Prospect is gearing up for a busy spring, with several community events on the horizon. During the Regular March Prospect Forestation Board Meeting on April 10, 2025, key updates were shared, highlighting the importance of community engagement and cultural activities.
Doug, a board member, provided an overview of ongoing initiatives, including the Winter into Spring art exhibition at City Hall, which opened on March 23 and will run until May 16. He encouraged residents to visit and appreciate the artwork, noting the exhibition's high quality.
In addition to the art exhibition, Doug announced a community cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at 9 AM at the John Evans Pavilion. He called for volunteers to help clean up US 42, emphasizing the need for community participation in maintaining the city’s environment.
Looking ahead, the board is also excited about the upcoming Shakespeare in the Park performance of "Macbeth," set for April 27 at 1 PM. Doug reminded attendees of the library's used book sale on May 16 and 17, along with other events planned for the month.
To streamline communication, Doug mentioned a new weekly email format that consolidates announcements and events into one message, making it easier for residents to stay informed.
As spring unfolds, the City of Prospect is not only focusing on beautification efforts but also fostering a vibrant community spirit through art and cultural events. Residents are encouraged to participate and engage in these upcoming activities, reinforcing the importance of community involvement.
