Dickinson residents will soon have access to significant funding for home renovations, as the City Commission approved the Gate City Bank Dickinson Revitalization Program, which allocates $1 million for loans to homeowners in 2025. This initiative aims to assist residents with both major and minor renovations, enhancing property values and ensuring compliance with city codes.
The program, which opened for applications on March 17, operates on a first-come, first-served basis, meaning once the funding is exhausted, no further applications will be accepted until the following year. Homeowners can apply for loans ranging from $10,000 to $100,000, with the average loan size typically falling between $30,000 and $50,000. Applications can be submitted online, by mail, or in person at City Hall.

The Commission discussed the Phase 2 facility plan for water main and lead service line replacements, which will address aging cast iron pipes and lead service lines in designated areas of Dickinson. This project is part of a broader initiative funded through low-interest loans from the state revolving loan fund program, aimed at enhancing the community's drinking water infrastructure.
The facility plan will cover a significant area, including parts of North Villard and East Tenth Avenue, and is expected to minimize service disruptions during construction. Temporary water services will be set up to ensure residents experience minimal inconvenience.
Overall, the Dickinson City Commission is taking proactive steps to enhance community living through infrastructure improvements and home renovation support, reflecting a commitment to fostering a vibrant and safe environment for all residents.
