Manhasset schools celebrate top math students and arts achievements at board meeting

The Manhasset Schools Board of Education meeting held on April 10, 2025, highlighted the impressive achievements of students and the dedication of educators within the district. The meeting began with a warm acknowledgment of the contributions made by teachers and staff, particularly at Shelter Rock, where the board expressed gratitude for their hard work and commitment to student success.

One of the key highlights was the recognition of the sixth-grade math team at Shelter Rock, which placed sixth in New York State and tied for first in Nassau County during the New York Math League Olympiad. Additionally, the junior mathletes from Kellenberg Middle School also garnered accolades, with Drew Yang winning first place in the individual round and Team A securing third place overall in a competitive tournament. In the arts, high school students Leo Chan and Hang Mi were celebrated for their selection in the prestigious Long Island's Best Young Artist exhibit at the Heckscher Museum, with Hang Mi receiving the top award, Best of Show, among over 500 submissions. The board also applauded the cast and crew of Manhasset High School's production of "The Outsiders," which showcased the depth of talent nurtured within the district.
