The Baltimore County Landmarks Preservation Commission has approved a significant restoration project for the historic Falestone Mansion, located on the Rocky Point Golf Course property. During their meeting on April 10, 2025, the commission voted to repair and restore multiple windows on the mansion, which dates back to the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. This decision is crucial for preserving one of the few remaining farm-related buildings in an area that has seen rapid development.
The approved work includes repairs to 15 windows across various elevations of the mansion. This involves scraping, repairing, and repainting the sashes, frames, and bullnose, as well as replacing three interior window sills in kind. The commission emphasized the importance of adhering to preservation guidelines, specifically referencing the National Park Service's preservation brief for historic wood windows.
