CMS honors military students with spirit week celebrations and activities

The Coronado Unified School District's recent broadcast highlighted the upcoming celebration of the Month of the Military Child, emphasizing the contributions and experiences of over 200 military-connected students. Assistant Principal Miss Barto introduced members of the Military Kids Club, including Crystal Davis, Cece Ventresca, Kellen Littrell, and Emma Arenborough, who shared details about the planned activities for the week.

The celebration will feature a spirit week with themed days designed to honor military families. Activities include "Camel Day" on Monday, where students are encouraged to wear camouflage, and "Favorite Military Branch Day" on Tuesday, allowing students to represent their preferred branch of the military. The highlight of the week will be "Purple Up Day" on Wednesday, where students will wear purple to symbolize unity among the armed forces. The week will conclude with "Patriotic Day" on Thursday, encouraging students to don red, white, and blue attire.

In addition to the themed days, members of the Military Kids Club will be distributing prizes for the best-dressed students during lunch. The school community is encouraged to participate and show support for military families throughout the week.

The broadcast also included a reminder for teachers to prepare school devices for upcoming testing, ensuring that students are ready for the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing. The week promises to be a meaningful celebration of military children and their families, fostering a sense of community and pride within the school.
