Canfield High School recognizes outstanding athletes in swimming basketball and wrestling

The Canfield Local Board of Education meeting on April 9, 2025, highlighted significant achievements of student athletes from Canfield High School. The meeting began with a focus on recognizing outstanding performances in various sports, including girls swimming, boys wrestling, and boys basketball.

The board acknowledged the accomplishments of the girls swimming team, noting that Mina Monroe and Mila Dingman were recognized as individual district qualifiers. The Canfield High School girls basketball team was celebrated for winning both the AAC league and district championships, with individual accolades awarded to players such as Jenna Trivieri, who was named first team all AAC and player of the year.

In wrestling, the Canfield High School team also achieved notable success, being named AAC league champions. Coach Greg Shaw received accolades as both EOWL and AAC coach of the year. Several wrestlers, including Gabe Miller, who was named the AAC most valuable wrestler, were recognized for their individual achievements, including state qualifications.

The boys basketball team was similarly honored for their district championship win, with standout players like Drew Shapiro receiving multiple accolades, including first team all AAC and third team All State.
