Canton Schools celebrate Students of the Month Travis, Ava, Haley, and Reed

Travis Nells, a standout student at Canfield High School, was honored as the Student of the Month during the Board of Education meeting on April 9, 2025. His impressive achievements include being the president of the Chamber Choir and a four-year member of the Canfield Players, where he will star in the upcoming musical "Grease." The performances are scheduled for this weekend, with shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Travis has maintained a GPA of 3.8 while balancing his academic pursuits with extracurricular activities, including track and landscaping work. His dedication to self-improvement and hard work has earned him praise from teachers and peers alike. "He has the right stuff," said a school representative, highlighting Travis's strong moral compass and work ethic.

The meeting also recognized other outstanding students, including Ava Botas from Red River Middle School, who was commended for her leadership on the cheer squad and her positive attitude as an office worker. Haley Dickinson from C.H. Campbell Elementary was celebrated for her integrity and compassion, with aspirations of becoming a teacher. Reed Schoener, a fourth grader at Hilltop Elementary, was acknowledged for his excellent grades and helpful nature.
