The Campbell County School District Board of Trustees celebrated a significant achievement during their meeting on April 8, 2025, by honoring the Thunder Basin High School wrestling team for their impressive performance at the state championships. Athletic Director Mike Delancey introduced the team, highlighting their remarkable accomplishment of being back-to-back state 4A wrestling champions.
Coach Cordero shared that the team qualified 24 wrestlers for the state tournament, with 16 placing in their respective weight classes. This achievement ties them with only two other teams in history for such a high number of placers. The team scored a total of 304 points, marking the second-highest record in the tournament's history.
