Plainfield Community Middle School hosts annual Battle of the Books competition

The Plainfield Community School Corporation officially launched the 2024-2025 Battle of the Books competition for middle school students, marking an exciting event for young readers in the community. During the kickoff meeting, team members introduced themselves, showcasing their enthusiasm for the competition.

The event received strong support from various stakeholders, including school administration, English teachers, and the local public library, all of whom played crucial roles in preparing students for the challenge. Acknowledgments were made to the Parent-Teacher Organizations (PATOs) for their generous donations and to parents for encouraging their children’s love of reading.

As the competition commenced, the rules were clearly outlined to ensure a fair and engaging experience. Teams will have 30 seconds to discuss each question before submitting their answers, with a total of 30 questions covering both specific book details and general literary knowledge.

This collaborative effort not only fosters a love for reading among students but also strengthens community ties through shared educational experiences.
