Subscribe for Free Erin Ruhle from Higgins, Quasbarth and Partners presented the proposed signage changes, noting that the existing monument signs have significant visibility issues. "During the day, they are hard to see, and at night, they become nearly impossible to read due to reflectivity," she explained. The new design aims to address these shortcomings, ensuring that the signs effectively guide patients and visitors.
The proposed monument signs will maintain the existing base but feature a new design that aligns with Northwell's branding. The updated signs will include a white panel for hospital identification and interlocking blue panels for wayfinding, enhancing both visibility and functionality. The new signs will be slightly taller and more prominent, improving their presence without overwhelming the building's architecture.
As the facility continues to develop and expand its services, the rebranding and signage updates are crucial steps in establishing a clear identity for the community. The Landmarks Committee's consideration of these changes marks a pivotal moment in the hospital's journey to better serve the Greenwich Village area.
