Higley High School Thespian Troupe earns gold honor at Arizona State Thespian Festival

Higley High School's Thespian Troupe has achieved remarkable recognition at the Arizona State Thespian Festival, showcasing their talent and dedication to the arts. In November, the troupe, consisting of 697 members, was selected to present "The Outsiders" to an audience of over 2,000 students from across the state. This honor underscores the school's commitment to excellence in theater, further highlighted by their achievement of gold honor status for the sixth consecutive year and the coveted award of distinction under the direction of Mrs. April French.

In addition to the theater accolades, the Higley High School Marching Band celebrated their success as state champions at the Aboda State Championships. Band members expressed gratitude for the community support that contributed to their achievements, emphasizing the collaborative effort from administration to parents that made their success possible.

The Higley Leadership Academy also made a positive impact on the community by participating in a day of service at Gilbert's Riparian Preserve, where staff members engaged in various landscaping tasks to enhance the local environment.

As the year comes to a close, the governing board acknowledged the dedicated service of two members, Christina Reese and Michelle Anderson. Both have made significant contributions to the district, with Anderson bringing her experience as an educator and Reese serving for over a decade. Their leadership has been instrumental in shaping the community and supporting the district's mission.

The meeting concluded with heartfelt tributes to these individuals, reinforcing the importance of community involvement and the collective efforts that drive success in the Higley School District. As the district looks ahead, the commitment to excellence in education and community service remains a guiding principle.
