Boulder Library District celebrates National Library Week with community report

Larimer County has officially proclaimed April 2025 as National Library Week, celebrating the vital role libraries play in fostering community connections and lifelong learning. During the Administrative Matters Meeting on April 8, 2025, local library leaders gathered to highlight their achievements and the importance of libraries in the region.

Diane, the executive director of the Boulder Library District, presented a comprehensive report detailing the successes of the Poudre Libraries in 2024. She noted significant increases in visitor numbers, new library card sign-ups, and program attendance, emphasizing the libraries' commitment to providing equal access to knowledge and resources. The report also showcased innovative initiatives such as the "Summer of Adventure" reading program and the launch of a career online high school program, which has already seen its first graduate.

Collaboration emerged as a key theme, with libraries partnering with various community organizations to address social issues and enhance service delivery. Notable collaborations include efforts with Homeward Alliance and Colorado State University, which aim to improve access to essential services for residents.
