The Sioux Falls School District celebrated significant community partnerships and recognized outstanding educators during its recent school board meeting on April 14, 2025. The meeting opened with a positive note, highlighting the ongoing collaboration with Lehi Credit Union, which has been instrumental in supporting local schools through its Operation Hope and Caring initiative.
Since its inception in 2017, this program has raised over $127,800 to assist Title 1 schools lacking parent-teacher associations. The funds have provided essential resources such as field trips, playground equipment, and winter clothing for students. Lehi Credit Union's President and CEO, Fran Sommerfeld, expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of leveling the playing field for students in need. The recent event at Air Madness Trampoline Park, which attracted a large turnout, showcased the community's commitment to supporting education.
