Gabrielle organizes Gilpin County Community Center fundraiser with 5K trail run

A new fundraising event aimed at supporting the Friends of the Gilpin County Community Center is set to take place the weekend after Mother's Day, promising a blend of fitness and fun for the community. The event, which features a 5K run around the rec center trail, will allow participants to enjoy refreshments afterward, including wine for those aged 21 and over.

Gabrielle, a key organizer, highlighted that the Friends group will be tip certified to serve alcohol, with hopes of diversifying their fundraising efforts. Local businesses, including Augustus and Mount, are being approached for wine donations to enhance the experience while raising funds for the community center.

In addition to this new event, the Gilpin County Fair is scheduled for July 11-13, continuing its tradition of local vendors and community engagement. This year’s fair will also feature a First Responders Day on September 6, in collaboration with Buck for the Badge, focusing on community outreach and appreciation for first responders.
