North Miami officially breaks ground on Cagney Park North project

The City of North Miami celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of Cagney Park North, a project aimed at enhancing community recreation and engagement. Councilwoman Mary Estimate Irvin emphasized the importance of this development, stating, "We promised a facility to the community, and today, we are on our way to delivering that."

The project, which has been a collaborative effort over several years, aims to provide a variety of amenities that will benefit families and students in the area. Dr. Steve Gatton, a school board member for Miami-Dade County, highlighted the value of partnerships between the city and the school board, noting that such collaborations lead to collective investments that ultimately enhance community well-being.

Project Manager Lemuel Beauchamp from KVC Constructors detailed the exciting features of Cagney Park North, which will include a 25-yard pool, a 20-foot slide, an area for aqua aerobics, and a Lazy River. Additionally, the park will feature a versatile football field that can also accommodate soccer and other activities, a playground for children, and a scenic trail lined with trees.

This groundbreaking marks the beginning of a project that promises to be a hub for athletic engagement and community connection, showcasing what can be achieved when local entities work together. As construction progresses, the community looks forward to the completion of Cagney Park North, which is set to become a vital resource for recreation and family activities in North Miami.
