Phase 2 project reduces 2200 tons CO2 while completing school energy engagement

In addition to these initiatives, the board discussed a strategic shift in utility rates, moving from rate 6 to rate 6A, which is expected to yield an additional $33,000 in savings per year. This change was also recommended by McKinstry and is part of the district's ongoing efforts to optimize energy costs.

Looking ahead, the district is preparing to launch phase 3 of its sustainability projects, funded by a bond allocation of nearly $80 million. This phase will unfold over the next five years and includes the installation of solar canopies at transportation facilities, further enhancing the district's commitment to renewable energy sources.
