Steam Middle School choir members earn spots in TCDA All State Choir

During the recent Board Meeting held on April 14, 2025, in Texas, the spotlight was on the achievements of middle school choir students who earned a prestigious spot in the Texas Choral Directors Association (TCDA) All State Choir. Choir directors Travis Campbell from STEAM Middle School and Megan Stubblefield from Kerr Middle School presented their students, highlighting their dedication and musical talent.

Travis Campbell emphasized the rigorous audition process that students must undergo to be selected for the All State Choir, which is recognized as one of the highest honors in choral music within the state. He noted that the four students being recognized had not only prepared for their auditions but also participated in various other musical activities, including regional choirs and competitions. Their commitment to excellence was evident, as they balanced multiple pursuits in music and academics.

The selected students will travel to San Antonio in July to rehearse with peers from across Texas, culminating in a concert that promises to be a memorable experience. Campbell encouraged the community to support these talented individuals by attending the concert.

Megan Stubblefield also shared her admiration for her student, Marcy, who has shown exceptional musical ability and dedication during her time at Kerr. Stubblefield praised Marcy's work ethic and contributions to the choir, expressing confidence that she would continue to excel in her musical journey.
