Wayne County employees recognized for United Way campaign achievements

Wayne County employees received high praise at the recent Board of Commissioners meeting for their outstanding contributions to the United Way of Wayne County during the 2024 campaign. The meeting, held on April 15, 2025, highlighted the county's remarkable achievement of increasing their campaign contributions by an impressive 135% compared to the previous year.

During the meeting, a representative expressed gratitude to the leadership team, including Chip, Ginger, Megan Wilson, and Joy Allen, for their innovative efforts in engaging employees and boosting community support. Their initiatives not only increased the number of fair share investors but also significantly raised the overall contributions to $32,129.48, impacting the lives of 643 community members.

The county's leadership was recognized with the Spirit of Wayne award, specifically the Innovator category, which honors employers who creatively enhance their workplace campaigns. The recognition underscored the importance of community involvement and the positive impact of collective efforts.
