Pine View High ROTC earns perfect score recognition at district meeting

During the recent Washington County School District meeting on April 16, 2025, the spotlight was on the Pine View High School ROTC program, which achieved a remarkable milestone by receiving a perfect score of 100 during its evaluation. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy as only a select few of the 860 Air Force Junior ROTC units worldwide have achieved such a score.

Superintendent and board members expressed their pride in the cadets and the leadership of Colonel Brown, who highlighted the rigorous inspection process that the unit underwent. The evaluation included a mission briefing and a mass formation inspection, where cadets demonstrated their preparedness and knowledge. The inspector, who had never awarded a perfect score before, commended the cadets for their exceptional performance, noting that the unit is among the top programs in the nation.

Cadet Allie Wall, the new group commander, shared her personal journey in the ROTC program, emphasizing the growth in leadership skills and confidence she gained since joining. She recounted organizing a trip for 86 cadets to learn about aeronautics in Florida, showcasing the program's commitment to experiential learning and camaraderie.

The meeting also touched on the future aspirations of the cadets, with several expressing interest in applying to military academies. Notably, one cadet has already received an appointment to the Air Force Academy, marking the fifth such appointment in six years for the program. This trend reflects the program's success in preparing students for advanced educational opportunities and careers in the military.
