Wichita County officials are set to enhance the efficiency of jury payments following a recent presentation by Tyler Technologies during the Commissioner’s Court meeting on April 15, 2025. The court approved a quote of $14,125 for the implementation of a new jury pay disbursement software aimed at streamlining the payment process for jurors.
The current system, which relies on issuing checks, has faced challenges including delays, lost payments, and increased administrative burdens. The new software will allow jurors to receive payments digitally, significantly reducing the time and resources spent on processing checks. Jurors will be notified via text or email when their payment is available, and they will have multiple options for accessing their funds, including direct deposit and debit cards.

With approximately 20-25% of jurors not cashing their checks, the new system aims to ensure that funds are utilized effectively, potentially returning unclaimed amounts back to the county more efficiently.
In addition to the jury payment system, the court discussed a consulting agreement with Health IQ LLC to create a Request for Proposal (RFP) for employee benefits, including health insurance services, with a budget of up to $25,000. This initiative reflects the county's commitment to improving employee benefits and ensuring competitive offerings for its workforce.
The decisions made during this meeting highlight Wichita County's proactive approach to enhancing operational efficiency and improving services for both jurors and county employees. As these initiatives move forward, residents can expect a more streamlined and responsive county government.
