With the number of residents aged 60 and older now surpassing those under 18, there is increasing pressure on the senior support system. Many older adults are grappling with chronic health issues, transportation difficulties, and social isolation, compounded by concerns over rising living costs and potential cuts to Medicare and Social Security.
The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among local leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community members to ensure that seniors are not left behind. As the community looks to the future, the commitment to building a more supportive and age-friendly environment remains a priority, with hopes for continued partnership and support for the next 50 years.
