Solano County honors Sonny Garcia as January 2025 employee of the month

Sunny Garcia has been named the January 2025 Employee of the Month for the County Administration Center's parking program, a recognition celebrated at the recent Solano County Board of Supervisors meeting. Liam Peck, director of the Department of Child Support Services, expressed his enthusiasm for Garcia, highlighting his exceptional qualities and contributions to the team.

Garcia joined the Solano County Department of Child Support in January 2019, bringing with him four years of caseworking experience. His role as a child support specialist involves supporting supervisors and caseworkers in daily operations, including training and compliance tracking. Peck praised Garcia for his commitment to excellent customer service, both to his colleagues and the families served by the department.

Tara Kenobi, a retired supervisor who returned to speak about Garcia, emphasized his leadership and innovative spirit. She noted that Garcia's positive attitude and willingness to help others make him a joy to work with. His educational background, including a bachelor's degree in English, has also proven beneficial, as he has utilized his writing skills to enhance customer materials and participate in state work groups focused on electronic filing of legal documents.
