The Margate City Commission meeting on April 17, 2025, celebrated local talent and dedicated service, highlighting the community's commitment to recognizing both youth achievements and employee milestones.
One of the evening's standout moments was the recognition of Lorenzo Manzini as Margate's Athlete of the Month. Lorenzo, an eighth grader and a long-time participant in Margate Baseball, was honored for his impressive performance, including hitting a home run and excelling as a pitcher. His journey in baseball began at the age of five, and he has now transitioned to middle school teams. The commission presented him with a plaque, a goodie bag, and various gifts, including a $10 Walmart gift card and passes to the newly remodeled Calypso Cove Waterpark. This recognition not only celebrates Lorenzo's individual achievements but also emphasizes the importance of youth sports in fostering community spirit.
