Wellington's Special Magistrate Hearing on April 17, 2025, addressed significant code compliance issues affecting local properties. The meeting highlighted ongoing violations related to vegetation removal and the lack of necessary permits, which have raised concerns among community members.
A key case discussed involved a property where a dead palm tree and other landscape elements were removed without the required vegetation removal permit. An inspection on February 13, 2025, confirmed these violations, and follow-up inspections on April 8 and April 14 revealed that the issues remained unresolved. The property owner’s daughter, Vera Clark, had applied for a permit but failed to cooperate with the code compliance division regarding the submission of a replacement plan and payment of the application fee. As a result, the code compliance division recommended that the respondent be found in violation of Wellington's land development regulations.
