Parkway School District honors 2025 All State Musicians and Katie Henderson's teaching excellence

The Parkway C-2 School District celebrated its talented students and dedicated educators during the Board of Education meeting on April 16, 2025. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of the 2025 Parkway All State Musicians, showcasing exceptional young talent from various high schools in the district.

Among the honorees were violinists Ian Chung from West High and Aidan Moon from Central High, as well as cellists Eileen Henners and Ian Cho, among others. The meeting acknowledged a total of 20 students who excelled in their musical pursuits, with additional recognition given to eight alternates. The board emphasized the importance of these achievements, not only for the students but also for the music educators who guide them.

In a special tribute, Katie Henderson, a distinguished educator from Parkway, was honored as the 2025 Missouri ASTA Elementary Strings Teacher of the Year. This prestigious award, presented by the American Strings Teacher Association, recognizes her outstanding contributions to strings education. Henderson's commitment to mentoring new teachers and her ability to inspire students were highlighted as key factors in her selection for this honor.
