City Council approves $1M for new clubhouse building fundraising initiative

A new clubhouse project is on the horizon for Davenport City, with plans for a 5,600 square foot facility aimed at enhancing local recreational offerings. The proposed clubhouse will replace the existing structure and feature a pro shop, multipurpose meeting space, concession area, and essential amenities like restrooms and storage.

The estimated cost for the project stands at approximately $2.6 million. Currently, the city has allocated $1 million from the fiscal year 2026 budget as initial funding, but an additional $1.3 million is needed to fully realize the vision. City officials are actively pursuing fundraising efforts, including seeking out one or two major donors to kickstart the campaign, alongside applying for grants and charitable donations.

Once the fundraising goal is met, the city plans to move forward with formal design and specifications, aiming to bid the project later this year. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2026, marking a significant investment in the community's recreational infrastructure.
