Santa Fe Economic Development Corporation approves engineering services for Project Warpath

The City of Santa Fe Economic Development Corporation (EDC) held a workshop on January 10, 2025, focusing on the advancement of Project Warpath and upcoming initiatives. The meeting emphasized the urgency of moving forward with engineering services, as timely progress is critical for the project's success.

During the session, members discussed the selection of MBCO as the preferred engineering firm, which has already begun preparing a cost proposal. The EDC is awaiting this proposal, which will help determine the project's budget. The board expressed the importance of receiving competitive bids from other firms ranked second to fourth, ensuring that they are prepared in case negotiations with MBCO do not meet expectations.

A motion was made and unanimously approved to authorize the EDC to enter into an agreement with the most qualified engineering firm for Project Warpath, with a budget not exceeding $150,000. This decision reflects the board's commitment to maintaining a tight timeline for the project, which is expected to progress significantly within the next four months.

In addition to Project Warpath, the meeting also highlighted future agenda items, including a review of the EDC's website and the potential establishment of a social media presence. Board members were encouraged to provide feedback on the website's functionality and to explore social media strategies used by other economic development corporations.

Lastly, the board discussed the consideration of a cost proposal for the veil coach, which has been adjusted to align with the current budget, eliminating the need for any amendments. This proposal will also be revisited in upcoming meetings, showcasing the EDC's proactive approach to managing resources effectively.
