The Oak Creek Plan Commission made significant strides in community development during its meeting on April 8, 2025, approving plans for a new competition and community pool at Oak Creek High School. This addition, proposed by the Oak Creek Franklin Joint School District, will enhance recreational opportunities for students and residents alike.
The new facility will span over 40,000 square feet and stand 34 feet tall, featuring both competition and community pools, along with a mezzanine that includes bleachers and concessions. An enclosed connection will link the new building to both the high school and the ninth-grade center, promoting accessibility and integration within the campus.

This adjustment is designed to accommodate the anticipated increase in visitors to the facility. The site will also feature ample landscaping, including shade trees and ground cover, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the area.
Architecturally, the new building will incorporate a blend of materials, including precast panels, metal wall panels, and brick, ensuring it complements the existing school structures. The design includes a glass-enclosed entrance and is intended to meet city requirements while providing a welcoming atmosphere.
In addition to the pool project, the commission discussed relocating another facility to minimize its impact on nearby wetlands, demonstrating a commitment to environmental considerations in urban planning.
The approval of the pool project marks a pivotal moment for Oak Creek, promising to enrich community life and provide essential recreational resources for residents. As construction progresses, the city looks forward to the positive impact this facility will have on local youth and families.
