The Oak Creek Plan Commission meeting on April 8, 2025, focused on the approval of a site plan for an Amazon hub at Riverwood Estates Apartments, located at 535 West Riverview Drive. The proposal, submitted by David Nadkin of Legacy Riverwood LLC, aims to relocate an existing Amazon hub to a new site within the apartment complex.
The new hub will be positioned adjacent to the community's clubhouse and management office, which includes amenities such as a pool and parking lot. The structure will measure approximately 7 feet tall, 9.5 feet wide, and over 2 feet deep, resting on a concrete pad measuring 10 by 6 feet. To enhance privacy and aesthetics, the plan includes the planting of two herbivita trees, expected to grow between 10 to 15 feet tall, providing screening from Riverwood Drive.
Nadkin emphasized that the hub will improve package delivery for residents by preventing packages from accumulating in hallways and allowing residents 24/7 access to their deliveries. The hub is intended to enhance the living experience at Riverwood Estates by offering an additional amenity.
During the meeting, commissioners had no questions regarding the proposal, and it was noted that the existing hub had been operating without the necessary site plan and permit, which prompted the current review process. A condition was discussed regarding the lighting of the hub, which will be adjusted to comply with residential standards.
The commission is expected to vote on the approval of the site plan in the coming weeks, marking a significant step in enhancing the services available to residents at Riverwood Estates.
