Goodyear honors Friends of Southwest Family Advocacy Center as Corporate Citizen of the Year

During the recent Goodyear City Council meeting, significant recognition was given to the Friends of the Southwest Family Advocacy Center, which was awarded the title of 2024 Corporate Citizen of the Year. This accolade highlights the center's vital role in supporting victims of abuse and trauma in the Southwest Valley.

The Friends of the Southwest Family Advocacy Center operates as a 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to raising funds that enhance the services provided by the center. This facility is a collaborative hub where professionals from law enforcement, child protection, mental health, and victim advocacy unite to address cases of child abuse, domestic violence, and elder abuse. The center's multidisciplinary approach ensures that victims receive comprehensive support during their recovery process.

In 2024 alone, the Friends of the Southwest Family Advocacy Center made a significant impact by providing essential services to families in need. Their efforts included distributing clothing to 51 families, offering gift cards to 101 families, facilitating hotel stays for six families, and providing transportation for 41 families. Additionally, they supported families with meal assistance, issued security devices, and organized equine therapy sessions, demonstrating a commitment to holistic care.
