Lindbergh High School celebrated outstanding achievements during the Board of Education Meeting No. 1615 on April 19, 2025, highlighting the contributions of exceptional staff and students. The meeting commenced with special recognitions, where Dr. Eric Cochran presented awards to the school's Support Staff Person of the Year, Buerta Demo, and Teacher of the Year, Karina Heilich Henry.

Buerta Demo, recognized for her dedication and leadership as the AM staff lead on the custodial crew, was praised for her hard work and commitment to maintaining a positive school environment. Dr. Cochran noted her efforts in supporting the school's Power Lunch program and her nurturing approach to caring for the school's plants, which reflects her attention to detail and community spirit.

Karina Heilich Henry was honored for her significant impact on both student learning and school culture. She initiated the "Secret Flyer Friends" program, fostering camaraderie among staff, and has been instrumental in innovative grading practices within her department. Under her guidance, the number of students earning the Seal of Biliteracy has increased, showcasing the department's growth and success.

The meeting also recognized two outstanding students, Audrey Scarpace and Mason Vandermeer. Audrey, a dedicated journalist and editor, has excelled in her roles at the school, contributing to award-winning publications while maintaining a high GPA. Mason, with a perfect ACT score and a 4.6 GPA, has demonstrated exceptional academic and extracurricular achievements, including participation in the varsity volleyball team and engineering competitions.

In addition to these recognitions, Dr. Cochran shared positive updates on academic performance at Lindbergh High School. The recent ACT administration saw over 400 students participate, with five achieving perfect scores. The school also reported a record high pass rate for Advanced Placement (AP) exams, with over 1,300 tests scheduled for the upcoming May session.

Lindbergh High School continues to emphasize character development, having been named a National School of Character for the third consecutive time. The school also achieved the status of a Unified Champions School through its commitment to inclusion and engagement in Special Olympics activities, further demonstrating its dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
