Round Rock ISD honors students and staff for excellence at recognition ceremony

The Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) Board meeting on April 17, 2025, highlighted significant achievements among students and staff, showcasing the district's commitment to excellence in education. The meeting began with a heartfelt acknowledgment of the Ridgeview Bridal School Orchestra for their musical contributions.

Notably, Shereen, a student, won first place in the 2025 Letters About Literature Texas contest for her reflective letter on Olympic cross-country skier Jesse Diggins' memoir, "Brave Enough." Additionally, several campuses were celebrated for their achievements at the Texas Science and Engineering Fair, with students from Round Rock High School, Westwood High School, Canyon Vista Middle School, Pearson Ranch Middle School, and Walsh Middle School receiving accolades for their innovative projects.

The meeting also honored the RRISD Enrichment Department for its role in enhancing student engagement and fostering a sense of belonging across campuses. The department's initiatives, such as the elementary student leadership summit and the ThinkHER event for third and fourth-grade girls, have seen significant growth in participation.

Furthermore, the board introduced the first cohort of the Rock Teacher Residency program, which offers an alternative pathway to traditional student teaching. This program aims to attract and retain new educators by providing hands-on experience and competitive benefits. The six teacher residents expressed their enthusiasm for continuing their teaching journeys within the district.
