Village Tree Committee celebrates Arbor Day with sapling giveaways and activities

The Village of Tivoli Board of Trustees meeting held on April 16, 2025, addressed several community initiatives and updates. The meeting began with a safety announcement regarding the installation of a snow fence around the former water tower site, which was put up as a precautionary measure while awaiting further information from the Department of Conservation (DC). A significant highlight of the meeting was the announcement from the village tree committee regarding Arbor Day celebrations scheduled for Saturday, April 26. The event will take place outside the gazebo from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. During this time, the committee plans to distribute sapling trees, prioritizing local residents. Children attending the event will have the opportunity to engage in activities such as making tree cookies and participating in a poster contest, where the winning design will be featured as the official poster for next year's Arbor Day.

Additionally, Dan McKenna, a tree expert and member of the tree committee, will lead a tree walk around the village, providing insights and fostering community interest in local flora.
