Woodbridge Township residents advocate for inclusion and human rights in local schools

In a passionate display of support for diversity and inclusion, community members at the Woodbridge School Board of Education meeting on April 17, 2025, voiced strong opposition to recent criticisms of these values. Glenn Morgan, a member of the Woodbridge Township Human Rights Commission, challenged attendees to reconsider their stance on inclusion, emphasizing that being against it equates to silencing neighbors regardless of their backgrounds. He urged the community to engage in meaningful conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion, inviting anyone interested to attend upcoming Human Rights Commission meetings.

Robert Farrell, a lifelong resident of Woodbridge, echoed Morgan's sentiments, asserting that attacks on the rights of any child are attacks on the rights of all children. He stressed that protecting the rights of marginalized groups does not diminish the rights of others, stating, "Human rights are not a zero-sum proposition." Farrell called for immediate action to safeguard the rights of all children, warning that waiting until issues arise in local schools would be too late.
