NEISD celebrates top ranking and hosts student job fair at Blossom Athletic Center

The North East Independent School District (NEISD) Board meeting on April 14, 2025, highlighted several key updates that resonate with the community, particularly in education and student support initiatives.

One of the most notable announcements was NEISD's recognition as the number one school district in the MySA Express News Reader's Choice Awards. This accolade, awarded for the second time in three years, reflects the hard work and dedication of the district's teachers and staff. Superintendent Dr. Micah praised the educators for their commitment to excellence, emphasizing that such achievements are a collective effort.

In addition to the award, the board celebrated the academic success of its students. Over 500 seniors across NEISD high schools will be honored for achieving a grade point average of 100 or above during the upcoming summa ceremonies. This recognition not only highlights individual student accomplishments but also showcases the district's commitment to academic excellence.

The meeting also addressed the district's efforts in career readiness. NEISD's Career and Technical Education (CTE) department recently organized a job fair that connected over 300 students with nearly 50 potential employers. This initiative aims to provide students with valuable insights into various career paths, enhancing their readiness for the workforce.

Furthermore, the board discussed ongoing improvements to school facilities, including restroom modifications to meet ADA height requirements. While not every restroom requires changes, the district is committed to ensuring accessibility for all students.
