Penn London promotes healthy eating on Go for the Greens Day

Avon Grove School District recently highlighted several key events and achievements during its latest school board meeting on March 27, 2025, showcasing the district's commitment to student engagement and academic excellence.

Penn London Elementary School celebrated "Go for the Greens Day" on March 18, promoting healthy eating habits among students. Participants explored a variety of nutritious foods and learned about the importance of a balanced diet, with many students joining the festivities by wearing green or colors representing their favorite fruits and vegetables.

At Avon Grove Intermediate School, the annual Arts and Humanities Night took place on March 20, featuring a showcase of student work across various content areas. This event highlighted the district's commitment to arts education, with special recognition given to the faculty and students who contributed to the successful presentation.

The middle school hosted its second annual eighth-grade career day on March 4, where students engaged with community members who shared insights into various professions, including financial advising, emergency medical services, and technology. The event was organized by the middle school counseling team, who were commended for their efforts in providing this valuable experience.

High school students were also recognized during the National Merit Recognition Ceremony on March 20. Eleven students received letters of commendation for their outstanding academic performance, ranking among the top 2.6% of over 1.3 million National Merit Scholarship entries nationwide. Notably, Benjamin Weaver advanced as a National Merit finalist, placing him in the top 1% of participants. The ceremony celebrated not only their academic achievements but also their contributions to the Avon Grove community through various extracurricular activities and service.
