AID unveils design for new general aviation terminal with enhanced parking and features

City officials are set to enhance Clearwater's aviation facilities with a proposed general aviation terminal, as presented by Chip Hayward and Kyle Holly from American Infrastructure Development (AID) during a recent council work session. The new terminal aims to improve both functionality and aesthetics, featuring an expanded parking lot, a central lobby, and dedicated spaces for flight operations and passenger waiting.

The design includes a two-story layout with a pilot's lounge, flight training offices, and community meeting rooms, all designed to foster a welcoming environment for both travelers and local residents. Notably, the terminal will showcase a suspended aircraft in the lobby, adding a unique visual element to the space.

Improvements to the surrounding infrastructure are also planned, including upgrades to the roadway leading to the terminal and enhancements to the taxiway, which are expected to go out to bid soon. These developments are part of a broader initiative to modernize the airport facilities and improve the overall experience for users.
