Wake County officials have taken significant steps to enhance affordable housing in the region, approving a series of loan recommendations during their recent meeting on April 21, 2025. The board of commissioners unanimously agreed to allocate funds for various affordable housing developments across the county, totaling over $10 million.
Key allocations include $500,000 for Heritage Park Senior Phase 1B in Raleigh, $655,000 for the Canopy in Cary, and $1.47 million for Abbey Spring Apartments in Apex. Additionally, the board approved $3.32 million for Fisher Grove Apartments in Raleigh and $7.1 million for Chapinoke, also in Raleigh. Other notable projects receiving funding include $1.4 million for Biltmore Hills in Raleigh, $480,000 for Friendship Station in Apex, and $2.65 million for Grover's Garden in Raleigh.
