Additionally, Brainfuse will offer online tutoring services for the Strickland Youth Center, funded at $76,274. Further allocations included $50,993.60 for a summer retreat at the Lodge at Gulf State Park for faculty and staff, and $35,500 for the Capturing Kids' Hearts program, which focuses on social-emotional learning for students. The board also discussed a $15,000 investment in professional development for approximately 600 teachers, facilitated by David Burgess Consulting.
In addition to educational programs, the board addressed infrastructure and property management issues. A sale of a vacated parcel on Irby Street was approved, generating $75,000 for the district. The meeting also included discussions about a historical property in Tanner Williams, with plans for redevelopment pending legal responses.
