The Town of Yarmouth is gearing up for an exciting 2025 Summer Reading Program, with plans for a grand kickoff event that aims to attract both locals and tourists. Mindy, the Youth Services Librarian, presented the program during a recent government meeting, highlighting its impressive growth and inclusivity over the past three years.

Mindy shared that the program has seen a remarkable 50% increase in participation, particularly among adults, thanks to the removal of age limits. This year, the library plans to host a mini renaissance fair to launch the summer reading initiative, featuring multiple performers and vendors, which is expected to draw significant crowds during the Fourth of July weekend.

The library is requesting $9,175 to fund this ambitious event, which aims to strengthen community ties and enhance the summer experience for visitors. Mindy emphasized the importance of outreach, noting that the library has partnered with local businesses and utilized social media to promote the program effectively.

With 41 community volunteers supporting the initiative, the library is poised to make this summer reading program the biggest yet, continuing its tradition of engaging the community and fostering a love for reading among all ages.
