Mission City Council approves cybersecurity and equipment purchases from NetSync

The City Council of Mission, Texas, convened on April 15, 2025, to discuss several significant items, including cybersecurity enhancements, public safety equipment purchases, and community development projects.

The council also addressed public safety needs by approving a $205,354.37 purchase of specialized ambulance equipment from Stryker for the Mission Fire Department. This equipment is essential for maintaining operational and safety standards in emergency medical services.

Further, the council authorized the purchase of 17,100 square feet of sod for the Sherry Municipal Golf Course, part of a broader improvement plan funded by the Mission Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). The total cost for this project is $51,660.

In a move to enhance community infrastructure, the council approved an interlocal cooperation agreement with Hidalgo County for the development of a 15.7-mile recreational trail connecting existing facilities. This project aims to promote outdoor activities and improve connectivity within the region.

The meeting also included discussions on financial matters, including a resolution to issue certificates of obligation for public works projects, which aims to secure funding for future city improvements.
