League City develops comprehensive future land use plan for West Side growth

In a recent planning and zoning meeting held on April 21, 2025, League City officials unveiled a comprehensive future land use plan aimed at fostering balanced growth and enhancing community quality of life, particularly on the West Side of town. Additionally, the plan includes a market study that explored various development scenarios, indicating that an aspirational approach—focused on updated zoning and infrastructure incentives—could yield higher value developments and increased city revenue. The concept of a "sponge city," which incorporates green infrastructure to absorb water, was also discussed as a sustainable solution to drainage challenges.
