During the recent Jackson Town Council meeting, Mayor RM Jorgensen announced the upcoming Community Spring Cleanup Week, scheduled from May 5 to May 10, 2025. This annual event, which has been a tradition since 1969, aims to engage residents in beautifying the town while promoting sustainability practices.
The mayor emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating that all citizens are caretakers of their environment. He highlighted the town's commitment to enhancing its scenic beauty and sustainability through various programs, including composting and waste reduction initiatives. As part of the cleanup efforts, the town will provide free compostable yard waste bags starting May 1, available at the town hall and public works.

The Rotary Club will sponsor the event, organizing volunteers to help clean the community. Additionally, the Jackson County Public Works will offer free yard waste drop-off services at the County Fairgrounds on May 9, from 9 AM to 10 PM, to assist residents in disposing of their yard waste.
